Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is expected to make his return in Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season after an injury that cut his 2025 campaign short. He has been a full participant in training camp, raising hopes for his availability.
Mahomes played in 14 games in 2025. He suffered a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee during the Chiefs' Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, effectively ending his season and putting him on a months-long recovery following surgery.

While Kansas City has yet to announce Mahomes' official status for the start of the season, the superstar QB hyped up fans recently when he said that there is "gonna be a new version of the Chiefs that goes out there and dominates the same way the old one did."
Now, as the team prepares for the new season, Mahomes' mom made sure to show her support for her child and express how proud she is of him and all that he has accomplished in his life.

Randi Mahomes even shared an old photo of a young Patrick in New York from 1999. She accompanied it with a new photo taken in the same spot, with the building behind her now showing an advertisement featuring her son.

"27 years later and you ended up on one of the big screens," the Mahomes matriarch wrote. "I'll never stop being proud of you!"
Randi Mahomes has been a constant supporter of the Chiefs quarterback over the years. Sure enough, with his return in 2026, fans can expect his mom to keep cheering for him and supporting him on and off the field.
