The New England Patriots appear to be getting healthy at the right time.
Left guard Jared Wilson , special teams ace Brenden Schooler and defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga all returned to practice on Monday. Granted, there is no certainty that any of those players will be ready to play for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills , but they've at least given themselves a shot by practicing.
Wilson's return from his ankle injury could be significant for the offense. The unit lost Wilson and starting left tackle Will Campbell in the team's Week 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals . Ben Brown worked in at guard as the replacement for the Week 13 win over the New York Giants .
Schooler suffered an ankle injury in the game against the Bengals as well and missed the last game against the Giants. He has consistently been one of the best special teams players in the NFL.
Tonga was also out against the Giants with a chest injury. The veteran defender has been one of the key reasons for the team's improvement in stopping the run this season. They could use his help for the Week 15 meeting against the Bills and star running back James Cook.
The Patriots are still shorthanded with both Campbell and Milton Williams on injured reserve. But they are starting to get key pieces back at the right time for a brutal back-to-back slate against the Bills and Baltimore Ravens .
