- 4-2-5 Report: Rebels rout Tigers 45-15

Auburn entered this game with one of the best wins in the country, but coming off a blowout home loss. The Tigers still had their playoff hopes ahead of them with a win, but Ole Miss continued their home dominance, destroying the Tigers on the field and ending their postseason thoughts.
It was another slow start offensively, but in the second half both sides of the ball got it rolling and ran away with it. In a game they could not afford to drop, the Rebels made a statement. So let's check out the four best plays, two best players and five most interesting stats from the victory.
Gotta give the big man props when props are due. After a scoreless first quarter, Ole Miss was able to punch it in on the first play of the second quarter with a hand off to Will Echoles. The future first rounder on the defensive line was originally recruited as an offensive lineman. We know the versatility and athleticism, now add full back to the resume.
After Deuce Alexander's second massive drop on the day, Auburn was in immediate position to take the lead and the momentum in the game, especially since they were set to receive the ball to start the second half. Keaton Thomas was able to force his first career fumble while Jamarious Brown recovered the first fumble of his career. This play immediately shifted momentum back into the Rebel's favor.
This was a hell of a play all the way around. As he tends to do, Chambliss put this ball in the ONLY spot he could, leaving it up to his receiver to make the play. Caleb Odom made an incredible one hand, diving catch while being pulled down by one defender with another closing in quickly. It wasn't a touchdown, but it's plays like this that can bring the juice to a team and a stadium.
It looks like the chemistry between Horatio Fields and Trinidad is building quickly. After a breakout game against Texas, Fields makes a huge touchdown grab against his former team. This was essentially the dagger, putting the Rebs up three scores in the fourth quarter. Another dot from 6.
Shekai Mills-Knight
Makhi Frazier got the start but failed to do much to impress. No one is Kewan Lacy, but Frazier failed to provide a spark alongside Trinidad. Enter, SMK. The redshirt freshman finished with 16 carries for 75 yards and a touchdown, his first that wasn't in garbage time. He averaged 4.4 yards per carry, which is above the magic number of four for a running back.
Tah'J Butler
One of the most unheralded members of the team, yet seems to always produce. Butler finished with seven tackles, which included two sacks. His first two as a Rebel. Enjoy a couple highlights.
4 –Lucas Carneiro is now tied for 4thin school history with 43 made field goals. Ole Miss had a season high 4sacks in the game. Suntarine Perkins is now 4thin school history with 22 career sacks. The Rebels also had 4rushing touchdowns by 4different players.
2 –Deuce Knight, Shekai Mills-Knight and Caleb Cunningham all scored their 2ndcareer touchdowns in the game. The defense forced 2turnovers, which is the 2ndstraight game forcing multiple turnovers. Jaheim Oatis also blocked his 2ndkick of the season.
17/6:59 –The touchdown drive that ended with a Will Echoles score, was the longest drive in both plays (17)and time of possession (6:59).
3 –Horatio Fields has now scored a touchdown in 3consecutive games. The Rebels have now tied their longest winning streak against Auburn with their 3rdstraight win in the series.
8 –Trinidad Chambliss is currently 8thin school history in both passing yards and touchdowns. He is on pace to finish fifth in less than two full seasons of play. 8different Rebels recorded a tackle for a loss in this game.
