The 2026 NFL Scouting Combine continued on-field drills Saturday with the most highly anticipated positions groups, as the quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers took their turn to impress scouts and executives at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Here are four prospects who made the most of their chance to shine on Day 3 of this year's action from Indy:
RB Mike Washington Jr. , Arkansas
After Notre Dame 's Jeremiyah Love , it's a wide-open race for the No. 2 running back spot in this year's class. Washington made a strong case for himself with his combine performance, throwing up some awesome numbers for a bigger back (6-1, 233 pounds), including the fastest 40-yard dash from anyone at the position this year:
Washington's tape backs up those numbers, showing a strong blend of speed and power that should have scouts thrilled about his potential at the next level. Don't be surprised if this performance solidifies Washington as a Day 2 pick in this year's draft.
WR Jeff Caldwell , Cincinnati
Speaking of size and athleticism, Caldwell stole the show when the receivers took the field Saturday. After measuring in at 6-5 and 216 pounds, Caldwell ran a blazing 40-yard dash (4.31 seconds), and impressed in the broad jump and vertical leap:
This year's receiver class is loaded with quality depth, but Caldwell's combine performance should still move him up the board. He may not crack the Day 2 conversation, but with these physical traits, he could prove to be a massive steal anytime on Day 3.
QB Taylen Green , Arkansas
Listen, we all know that playing quarterback is about way more than pure athleticism. But it's still a big deal when a prospect comes along with the kind of physical traits that Green brings to the table, and he put them on display with a ridiculous workout Saturday. Green posted historic numbers for his position:
This year's quarterback class is begging for someone to assert themselves as the clear-cut No. 2 prospect in the group behind Indiana 's Fernando Mendoza , and while there are more polished passers in the group, nobody else brings the kind of athleticism and upside that Green has. This workout only confirmed what we already know, but it won't hurt his chances of moving up the board as a mid-round project with unlimited potential.
WR Bryce Lance , North Dakota State
The combine gives small-school prospects a chance to prove their physical traits in comparison with peers from powerhouse programs, and Lance made the most of his opportunity this week. After measuring in at 6-3 and 204 pounds, Lance put up impressive numbers across the board:
Again, the depth of this year's receiver class will force talented prospects to stay on the board longer than usual, but the combination of size and athleticism Bryce brings to the table won't be ignored. If he's still on the board heading into Day 3, Lance could prove to be a bargain if he lands in the right spot.
Best of the Rest
WR Skyler Bell , UConn
WR Omar Cooper Jr. , Indiana
WR Deion Burks , Oklahoma
WR Brenen Thompson , Mississippi State
WR Zavion Thomas , LSU
RB Adam Randall , Clemson
RB Seth McGowan , Kentucky
