The Seattle Seahawks probably know who will make up 40-45 of the spots on the 53-man active roster , and perhaps more. Still, players at the bottom of the roster do have a little more time to make their case to be on the team.
Seattle's final preseason game of 2026 comes against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday, and a few more starters might play. That could limit the reps that some presumed backups get, heightening their need to make an immediate impact in the game.
Should they do that, or completely fail, that could make the roster decisions of general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald tougher. If that is the case, let's hope the difficult decisions are because players have done positive things.
White is a great guy in the locker room, with a cerebral approach to the game and a quick smile. He isn't going to be a high-end producer on offense, though. Instead, should he earn a roster spot, he will do so with great acumen on special teams. That is how he has made a limited impact in previous seasons.
In preseason Week 2, White did muff a punt, but he isn't a true returner. He is better as a gunner at times and understands his assignment to keep the punt and kick coverage lanes tight. He might still do that in preseason Week 3, too, but he also might need to make a splashy player or two.
He is fighting for a roster spot with Montorie Foster Jr., among others, and Cody White fits the role left by Jake Bobo , who is out for the season with a knee injury. If Foster falters against the Chiefs and White does a few things on offense, he might earn his spot on the active 53-man roster.
Due to the injury to Mason Richman , Haynes might have a better chance of making the roster as a backup guard, but he is also going up against Bryce Cabeldue and Beau Stephens. The Seahawks also have two bad years from Haynes as evidence that they might not want to keep him around much longer.
Haynes hasn't been awful in two preseason games, though. He has been involved in 41 pass-block reps and given up just two pressures, but no quarterback hits and no sacks. He's been even better against the run, including helping up a massive hole for running back Jarcadia Wright to run through for 69 yards and a touchdown in preseason Week 2.
With Haynes, it might simply come down to a numbers game. The starters on the offensive line are going to be Grey Zabel and Anthony Bradford , and if Seattle only keeps two guards as backups, those will be Stephens and either Cabeldue or Haynes.
Speaking of a numbers game, the Seattle Seahawks might only keep four edge rushers, and those would be Uchenna Nwosu , Derick Hall , DeMarcus Lawrence , and Dante Fowler Jr. The team might decide to keep O'Toole as a fifth because they fear losing him to another team on waivers.
The 2025 undrafted free agent transitioned from wide receiver to edge rusher in college, so he is still somewhat learning his new defensive position. His upside is impressive, as he has fantastic athleticism that could lead to high-end quarterback pressure with proper technique.
After not doing much in preseason Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys , O'Toole was a star in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans , including against some of the Tennessee offensive line starters. The edge rusher had six total pressures, including two sacks. Another game like that against Kansas City, and he will almost certainly be on the 53-man roster.
The Seahawks haven't been overly happy with their cornerback play in training camp and the preseason, which is one reason the team signed Trevon Diggs and agreed to terms with Terrion Arnold , who isn't allowed to play yet due to being on the exempt list while facing felony charges for kidnapping and armed robbery.
Pritchett is entering his third season with the team and hasn't been overly good in the first two. He has made a great play at times, but has been terrible in others. What he struggled with is physicality in trying to stop the run.
He has been better in that aspect in the preseason, and while he has allowed four completions on four targets, he has only allowed 12 yards receiving. He is fighting for a roster spot with Noah Igbinoghene and others, but a good preseason Week 3 should get Prtichett his roster spot.
