As we close in on the end of August, teams around MLB will soon get the chance to add a couple of extra players from the minors via the traditional September call-ups. That means that with the Milwaukee Brewers in a battle for the best record in baseball, they could get some reinforcements from their deep and talent-rich minor league system. They will also get the chance to evaluate the ability of certain prospects to succeed at the big-league level for a month.
So which players who aren't already with the club might get the promotion call soon? We take a look at five players we hope to see at American Family Field over the final month of the season.

You can never have enough impact arms out of the pen in September and during the playoffs. That is why Triple-A reliever Blake Holub should get a look next month, because the player taken in Round 15 of the 2021 MLB Draft is having the best year of his minor league career.
In 42 appearances, he has posted a 2.12 ERA with four saves and a pair of holds. The 6-foot-6 pitcher brings a live arm to the bullpen late in the season. Led by a nice cut fastball and slider combo that both have a high whiff rate.
Andrick Nava, Catcher

Late in the season, it certainly doesn't hurt to have an extra catcher. It would allow the Brewers to rest William Contreras , get him ready for the playoffs, and provide late-game substitution options for manager Pat Murphy.
That is why Triple-A catcher Andric Nava should be considered for a call-up next month if healthy. In 13 starts at Nashville, he has posted a .325 average with a 1.063 OPS and four homers. If he is available, he could add some nice offense from the catcher spot while spotting Contreras.
Jeferson Quero, DH/Catcher

Catcher and DH Jeferson Quero has shown why he is a player hovering around the Brewers' top 10 in the minors (on MLB.com) this year. The international signing has had his best season yet in Milwaukee's system. Putting up a .272 average with 12 homers, 58 RBIs, and 48 runs in 100 games for Nashville.
A shoulder injury forced him to play more DH this year, and it has allowed him to still be a difference-maker in 2026. However, he is viewed as an outstanding defensive player behind the dish — if his shoulder is healthy. He would be a fun weapon for Murphy to deploy in different ways over the final month of the season.
Coleman Crow, Pitcher

Starting pitcher Coleman Crow got a taste of the big leagues this year with four starts and a relief appearance during the first half. Unfortunately, things didn't go well for him as he posted a 5.30 ERA in 18.2 innings. Striking out just 10 batters and walked six.
Nevertheless, it can't be overlooked that the No. 23-ranked player in their system on MLB.com had a great year in Triple-A, posting an 8-1 record with a 3.13 ERA and 79 Ks to 29 BBs in 77.2 innings. He has pitches with good spin rate and what can be a nasty curveball. As a bullpen arm, he would offer Murphy some options late in games or a solid long reliever.
Jett Williams, Third Base, Shortstop, Outfield

Yes, the Brewers are in a tight race for the No 1 record in baseball. But September call-ups have often been used as a way to evaluate talent and give fans an early look at the future. That is why infielder and 10th-ranked prospect Jett Williams could get a look.
Injuries have limited him this season, and it is a major reason why he is hitting just .233 with nine homers. But he has still knocked in 41 RBIs and scored 60 times in 81 games. He could be a useful weapon down the stretch because he can play SS, 2B, and in the outfield. He also brings speed on the basepaths. Maybe a trip to the show could awaken the talent that made him an elite prospect for the New York Mets in 2025.
