Pittsburgh Steelers rookie offensive lineman Gennings Dunker has found a way to keep his teammates entertained before they get down to business.
Aaron Rodgers revealed that the rookie has a daily responsibility to open team meetings with a joke, a tradition that dates back to the start of training camp in Latrobe.
"Every single day he's got to tell a joke upfront, and he is phenomenal," Rodgers said.
The routine has grown beyond jokes, with the rookie also sharing fun facts about himself. Rodgers said he looks forward to hearing what the rookie comes up with each day, and he gave the jokes a strong review.
"I can't wait for the fun facts every day. And then the jokes, I mean, he's probably about 95% as far as the ones that hit," Rodgers said.
The rookie appears to be enjoying the responsibility just as much as his teammates enjoy the laughs.
"I mean, I think it's pretty fun," the rookie said. "I enjoy telling jokes. I think they're funny. Makes me laugh before I even tell them."
It's a lighthearted way for the rookie to make his mark in Pittsburgh's locker room, giving the Steelers something to smile about before each meeting.
