- Aaron Wilson Reports That the Chicago Bears Worked Out a Cornerback
There's not much news around the Chicago Bears coming out on August 7th, but there was an interesting piece of information reported by Aaron Wilson on X .
As Wilson would post, "Corner Isaiah Bolden worked out for Chicago #Bears today, per a league source."

One takeaway that comes with this for me is that Chicago feels as if they need to add more players to their cornerback room. With Kyler Gordon still on the PUP list , adding another cornerback to the roster makes sense.
Here's a look into what Bolden has done during his time at college and in the NFL .
Isaiah Bolden College & NFL Production
Bolden started out at Florida State , where he spent two seasons before transferring over to Jackson State. In 2019 at Florida State, Bolden had one interception , two passes defended, and nine tackles over 13 games.

At Jackson State, Bolden would spend three seasons there, but he never showed elite production. Bolden would only play in three games during the 2020 season , and in 2021 he had just eight tackles in 10 games.
During the 2022 season, Bolden would have seven passes defended and a huge improvement to 44 tackles, but he still wasn't able to record an interception. That means that Bolden only had one interception in his college career, which isn't a great sign.
Ultimately, the New England Patriots would end up drafting Bolden in the 7th round, making him the 245th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft . Bolden ended up playing 14 games for New England in 2024, but that would be his only NFL season to date.

Over those 14 games, Bolden didn't start in any of the games; he had 10 tackles, one tackle for a loss, and one fumble recovery. Bolden is still fairly young at 26 years old.
One thing to note about Bolden is that while the production hasn't been great, he was able to post a strong Relative Athletic Score of 9.44, which included a 40-yard dash of 4.33 seconds . Pro Football Reference has Bolden listed at 6'2", 205 lbs.
Ourlads also lists Bolden on the Louisville Kings (UFL) roster for 2026.

At the end of the day, the bigger storyline to me is about the position Chicago is working out, but the athleticism and size make Bolden an intriguing player to watch out for.
