West Ham's decision to let Adama Traore depart in the summer is proving to be justified.
After signing in the 2026 winter window, the Spaniard failed to positively impact the Hammers' results.
His previous relationship with Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves had provided false hope that a game-changing signing had been secured.
Traore arrived on a six-month contract, with the Hammers mulling over whether to keep him longer.
In the end, the Irons were sent to the Championship, and Traore departed.
Now, that decision has seemingly been justified amid reports emerging out of Deportivo La Coruna, where Traore is currently playing
Adama Traore yet to convince Deportivo boss after West Ham spell
Traore would have been hoping to make an immediate impact at Deportivo following his summer move.
The former West Ham winger arrived in Spain with plenty of experience at the highest level, having previously featured in the Premier League and La Liga.
However, his first two months at the club have not gone according to plan, with the 30-year-old struggling to establish himself as a regular starter.
According to the print edition of La Voz de Galicia on 27 October, Traore has currently been labelled as simply a "game-changer off the bench" and has been unable to shake that term off.
The winger has made seven appearances, but all have been as a substitute for the La Liga side.
The outlet reports that Traore had plenty of hype surrounding his arrival, with it expected for him to be a key player.
But that has so far been far from the case, justifying the Hammers' choice to let him leave.

Letting Traore leave was the right choice, but the Hammers have failed to effectively replace him.
While Manor Solomon has certainly provided more than the Spaniard, he has not been the influential signing many hoped.
The Hammers are also missing the departed Crysencio Summerville, losing yet another pacey option out wide.
Edvin Austbo could yet prove to be a promising signing, but Nuno must provide him with regular starts.
Either way, those at London Stadium will be reassured over their decision on Traore.
West Ham are looking into signing Jadon Sancho , which could certainly be a positive step in adding better wide options.
