The NBA Draft Lottery has come and gone, and now we know that the Washington Wizards will have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft next month. That pick is highly expected to be BYU forward AJ Dybantsa.
Dybantsa attended the Draft Combine, where coaches, scouts, and front office personnel got to watch the prospects in next month's Draft participate in workouts and interviews.
The player largely expected to be selected by the Wizards with the first overall pick recently spoke with members of the media at the Draft Combine, where he
"Just his patience," AJ Dybantsa said of his workout with LeBron James . "He's super patient, even when he works out. If it's in the post, if he's reading defenses, his patience is key. That's probably why he's played so long. My hesi. He said my hesi was crazy. Like, he could tell, 'oh that's probably got to be his move.'"
AJ Dybantsa played just one year at BYU before declaring for the NBA Draft, where he's expected to be selected No. 1 overall by the Washington Wizards . In 35 appearances for the Cougars, Dybantsa averaged 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 51 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from three.
