Ally McCoist didn't hold back as Aston Villa lost 3-0 to Barcelona in the Champions League.
Unai Emery's torrid times at Camp Nou continued as the Villans fell to defeat on Tuesday.
An horrendous error gifted Lamine Yamal a chance to net the opener.
One became two in the second half as a deflected Raphinha found its way past Zion Suzuki, before the Brazilian later made it three.
That scoreline didn't necessarily flatter the hosts as the claret and blue outfit fell away as the encounter went on.
Villa ultimately made things easy for the Catalan giants, something that wasn't lost on McCoist.
Ally McCoist rips into Joao Gomes vs Barcelona
It was always going to be tough against one of the best teams in the world away from home.
That is exactly why the claret and blue outfit needed to keep things tight and not give Barca anything.
They didn't do that as Yamal was gifted after just seven minutes.
Zion Suzuki drilled the ball into Joao Gomes before the Brazilian laid the ball on a plate to the Ballon d'Or nominee.
The Spaniard went on to find the corner, leaving McCoist to make his opinion clear.
Speaking via TNT Sports, he said: "I don't think he wanted it. I don't think he should have got it. When he did get it, he should have handled it better.
"You can actually see the fear in his face when the ball comes to him. He tries to go to the left-back. He knocks it into an area and he [Yamal] is sharp as a tac."
It was crazy and a massive error that summed up where Villa went wrong at Camp Nou.
Aston Villa player ratings vs Barcelona: Joao Gomes shocker, 6/10 out on his own What were Zion Suzuki and Gomes thinking for Aston Villa?
There has been so much positive to say about Zion Suzuki in a Villa shirt this season.
Some of that shone through against Barca as he put up five saves despite conceding three.
What let him down was some bizarre distribution choices.
He misplaced 17 passes and often made the wrong choice to pass short, when going long was the obviously better choice.
It was in one of those moments where Gomes came unstuck as he committed an error that led to Yamal's goal.
That was one of his three misplaced passes, while he also lost one duel and was dribbled past once.
Both have to be questioned as to why they made the decisions they did in such a moment.
McCoist is right to hit out at Gomes as the nerves were palpable.
