The Arizona Cardinals have removed some questions about their 2026 starting offensive line. After signing Isaac Seumalo, who has started at left guard for most of his career, there were questions about where veteran Evan Brown would play. Would he stay at left guard and Seumalo play right guard? Would Brown move to the right side?
It turns out Brown won't play for the Cardinals at all. The team announced his release on Thursday.
Brown was due a $500,000 roster bonus on March 15 and was scheduled to make almost $4.2 million in salary in 2026. He was going to count more than $6.4 million against the salary cap. With his release, the Cardinals will save more than $4.9 million in cap space and carry $1.5 million in dead money against the cap in 2026.
Brown played two seasons for the Cardinals. He played and started every game at left guard in 2024 and then played every snap for 11 games at left guard last season. He missed the final six week for personal reasons, as his and his wife's baby had heart issues after his birth and needed open-heart surgery.
