The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is defensive lineman L.J. Collier .
L.J. Collier background, 2025 season
If the pattern for Collier's time with the Cardinals continues, this season could be a productive one for the 6-foot-2, 300-pound 31-year-old (as of September 12) if he makes the roster. In 2023, he played only one game because of a biceps injury and then only four games last season because of a knee injury. However, Collier was injury-free in 2024 when he played all 17 games with 15 starts. He had 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and six quarterback hits in 590 snaps (54 percent). In 2025, he played only 98 defensive snaps (31 percent).
L.J. Collier contract details, cap hit
As an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Collier signed a one-year deal worth $2 million that included $750,000 of guaranteed money ($350,000 signing bonus and $400,000 of his $1.265 million base salary). The pact also includes a $45,000 offseason workout bonus and per-game roster bonuses of $20,000 for a max total of $340,000.
Questions he faces, roster outlook
Collier wasn't talked about much during the offseason, but his leadership and ability can be a plus for the line group if he can stay healthy.
