- Arizona men’s basketball: Texas judge denies temporary restraining order for RJ Godfrey

Arizona men's basketball forward RJ Godfrey'schances of being eligible this season took a hit on Thursday.
A Texas judge tentatively denied a temporary restraining order (TRO) for Godfrey and other plaintiffs seeking a fifth year of eligibility, according to Theo Lawsonof the Spokesman-Review. Godfrey is ineligible for Arizona's season-opener against UCLA.
Godfrey and other plaintiffs withdrew their five-for-five case in Georgia this week and joined a separate lawsuit in Texas. Judge Ryan Lunasaid that any players that had sought injunctive relief in other states would not receive a TRO, according to Lawson's reporting.
"Those players that you can identify that have already gone through this process on these merits, who have sought injunctive relief from another state court or granted it, I think we talked about Tennessee and Georgia. Any of those players we can identify, I'm going to deny the TRO on those," per Lawson.
The ruling casts in doubt whether Godfrey has any other legal options to find a way to play this season for the Wildcats.
