Declan Rice and Ezri Konsa have both been nominated for the Premier League player of the month award for October , it has been announced.
Arsenal were unbeaten in the Premier League throughout October, registering a 2-1 victory over Leeds United at The Emirates, a 0-1 victory at The City Ground over Nottingham Forest before returning back to North London and defeating Everton 2-0 at The Emirates. These victories have also led manager Mikel Arteta to be nominated for the Manager Of The Month award as well.
Both Rice and Konsa were instrumental in helping Arsenal to an unbeaten month in the league. Konsa played every single league minute across the month, helping the backline to register the two clean sheets against Nottingham Forest and Everton. He also managed to net his first Arsenal goal in the victory over David Moyes' side.
Declan Rice played all but ten Premier League minutes across the month having been withdrawn around the 80th minute in the victory against Everton. He too, like Konsa, has been absolutely phenomenal for The Gunners so far this season. The 27-year-old picked up back-to-back Man Of The Match awards in the Premier League in October, having received the award against both Leeds United and Nottingham Forest. Two of his five Premier League assists also came last month in those games against Moyes' and Glasner's sides, assisting Bruno Guimarães' winning goal against Leeds United and Noni Madueke's winner in Nottingham.

Both have rightfully been recognised by the league for their performances across the month, but they come up against tough opposition in their hopes of taking home the award. Evanilson of Bournemouth , Nicolas Jackson of Aston Villa , Jack Rudoni of Coventry, Jan Paul Van Hecke of Tottenham and Bart Verbruggen and Luka Vuskovic, both of Brighton & Hove Albion , stand in their way having also been nominated.
The award is given to the winner based on three metrics. Fans have their chance to vote for their winner on the official Premier League Website, as well as a panel of football experts casting their vote. Finally, the captains of all 20 Premier League teams vote for their winner, who is then presented with the award when results of all three are tallied.
The last Arsenal player to be presented with the award was Bukayo Saka three and a half years ago, back in March 2023. Saka had scored three goals and provided two assists in four appearances across an unbeaten month for Arteta's side.
The award for October 2026 will be announced next week as The Gunners look to break their near four year duck of not having a player win the award.
