Arsenal warned not to sell benchwarmer in January
Viktor Gyokeres has endured a difficult start to life at Arsenal, with his first season in North London failing to meet expectations. The Swedish striker has spent much of his time on the bench recently, as Mikel Arteta continues to favour Kai Havertz in the central attacking role.
Gyokeres arrived at the Emirates Stadium with a strong reputation after establishing himself as one of the most lethal forwards in European football. His performances for Sporting Club had made him one of the most sought after strikers, but adapting to the Premier League has proved challenging.

The English top flight is a significant step up from the Portuguese league, where Gyokeres enjoyed considerable success. He is now attempting to convince Arteta that he deserves a more regular role, although his current situation has raised questions about his future.
Arsenal could consider January sale
There have been suggestions that Arsenal could be willing to sell Gyokeres during the January transfer window if a suitable offer arrives. Such a decision would allow the club to recover some of their investment, but it could also leave them short of options in attack.
Former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere believes the club must carefully consider the financial benefits of a potential sale alongside the difficulty of finding a suitable replacement. He has warned that allowing Gyokeres to leave midway through the campaign could create problems if the squad does not have enough attacking cover.

Havertz injury concern raises questions
Speaking to the Metro , Aliadiere explained why Arsenal should not rush into selling the Swedish forward, particularly with Havertz having experienced injury problems in the past.
'I think it's all depending on the finances how much they can get for him and who to replace him with,' Aliadiere told Metro.
'Because I think as much as obviously he's not in the top 11 now because Havertz is preferred number one, you don't want to sell him, get a good price and not be able to replace him.
'If Havertz gets injured, which obviously we've seen in the past – he's had a few injuries and he can pick up injuries – you just end up with no striker at all.'
