The Athletics are adding a former Cy Young Award winner to their pitching depth.
On Saturday, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that the Athletics reached agreement on a minor league contract with left-hander Dallas Keuchel . He will report to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Keuchel, 38, last pitched in the majors with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2024. The 13-year veteran made four starts that season, allowing 10 runs on 23 hits — including three home runs — over 16.2 innings. He also struck out 11 batters and walked eight.
Last July, Keuchel signed a minor league deal with the Kansas City Royals after reportedly reaching up to 92 mph during a workout. He made seven starts for Triple-A Omaha, posting a 3.53 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 30 strikeouts in 35.2 innings before being released on Aug. 20.

The A's are the ninth MLB organization Keuchel has joined since leaving Houston after the 2018 season. The two-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glove Award winner also spent time with the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball after being designated for assignment by Milwaukee in 2024.
