According to Ferran Correas of SPORT , FC Barcelona have placed their full trust in the development of teenage midfield prodigy Guille Fernandez , with the club's sporting department mapping out a specific, multi-stage blueprint to secure his long-term future at the club.
The Blaugrana sporting department is working intensively to conclude a comprehensive contract renewal for the 18-year-old midfielder before actively sanctioning a temporary loan move to guarantee him regular first-team minutes.
The decision to prioritise Guille's contract extension reflects the immense regard in which he is held by the technical staff.
Having progressed rapidly through the ranks of La Masia , the midfielder made waves across Spanish football by breaking several long-standing youth records, including eclipsing Lamine Yamal to become the youngest debutant in Barça Atletic history at just 15 years and 9 months.

Throughout 2025/26, Guille continued his progression under the club's youth developmental umbrella, balancing his responsibilities with Juvenil A and Barça Atletic while frequently being called up to senior first-team training sessions by head coach Hansi Flick.
The German tactician and the club view Guillle as a vital component of Barcelona's long-term central core.
His exceptional vision, press-resistance, and spatial awareness have drawn natural stylistic comparisons to senior midfield pillars, prompting the board to treat his contract renewal as a matter of absolute strategic importance.
Barcelona's current administrative objective is entirely clear. The Catalans want to completely avoid any contractual vulnerability, planning to tie the academy graduate down to a long-term deal that features a substantial release clause reflecting his elite potential.
Once the new deal is officially secured, the club's technical directors will shift their focus to the next phase of his development: engineering a highly specialized loan move.
Rather than keeping him as a rotational squad figure or leaving him to play another full season in the lower divisions with the reserves, the club wants Guille to gain consistent, high-intensity competitive experience.
The sporting department will carefully choose a destination that ensures he plays regularly, ensuring the player returns to Catalonia with the experience and maturity required to challenge for a permanent starting role in the first team.
