Barcelona weighing up move for La Liga midfield starlet – report
The midfield is perhaps the department Barcelona least require reinforcements in ahead of the new season, but Hansi Flick has a clear idea of the profile of player he is looking for if given the chance to recruit a player in the department.
As relayed earlier this week, Valencia 's Javi Guerra emerged as a player highly rated by the administration and management and was linked with a move to the club.

Barcelona's sporting director Deco holding a meeting with Guerra's agent Javi Garrido only fuelled the talks, but it soon came to light that the club were not looking for an immediate operation.
Eyes still on the midfielder
As reported by MARCA now, Guerra has now entered the scene for Barcelona once more and the club are alert to the Valencia star's situation.

Deco and Barcelona are reportedly considering and weighing up whether a move for the player is the right move for the summer. No decision has been taken, but the matter is under real consideration.

The player is of interest to Barcelona and they rate him highly . Making a move for him in the coming weeks, thus, is not completely ruled out.
A long-term haul
At just 22 years of age, Guerra has enjoyed a swift rise to prominence over the past season and has quickly developed into one of Spain's highest-rated young talents.
His technical ability is something Hansi Flick seriously values, and the player's energy and ability to track back are another element that makes him a good fit for the manager's system.

With discussions already ongoing between Deco and Garrido, it is not completely impossible for the club to make an offer for the player in the coming weeks. Valencia, however, will not make it easy as they consider him a key part of their long-term project.
Notably, the player has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Valencia for €40 million in July and €60 million from August.
What remains to be seen, however, is whether Barcelona are ready to spend that kind of money on a midfielder when the centre-back and centre-forward positions are clearly more important.
