The La Masia graduate has been one of the key players for Barça Atletic this campaign, playing 30 matches in which he has four goals and six assists.
Hernandez has also trained with the Barcelona first team on several occasions and is very much on the radar of manager Hansi Flick . He has been called up to the matchday squad for five games by the German.
Given his potential, Barcelona had recently extended his contract until 2028 with an option for an additional year. Following that, he was expected to take part in the summer's pre-season with the first team under Flick.
Now, it remains to be seen how this injury affects those plans.
