- BC Football: How the Running Game is slowly forming into the team’s identity

It's been quite the ride for the Boston College Eagles Football team these past two weeks. They'ev secured two key victories over Pitt and Georgia Tech, and are starting to build serious momentum. At 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the ACC, they're on the right path towards potentially making it to a bowl game as it currently stands.
One of the reasons – and there are many, as to why the Eagles have gotten to where they are is through their elite running game this season.
Many questioned what the Eagles identity was going to be heading in the year. That question seems to be answered with how strong the run game has been, and how it'll continue to look down the line. Down below are key statistics to back it up:
BC is averaging 181.0 rushing yards per game, which is fourth in the ACC.
They're averaging 4.75 yards per carry, ranked fourth in the ACC.
They have 13 rushing touchdowns, which is tied for sixth in the ACC.
They've converted 74 rushing first downs, which ranks third in the ACC.
Perhaps the greatest strength to QB Mason McKenzie's game is his running ability. His legs have been a serious weapon versus opponents this season, even with his limited abilities as a pure pocket passer. Even with the season ending injury to RB Evan Dickens, in comes Bo MacCormack III to rush for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns last Saturday. Granted, a lot of that ties in to the Yellow Jackets putrid rush defense – they allowed 400 yards on the ground in their matchup versus BC. But, MacCormack stepped up to the challenge. You can also attribute the running games success towards how the offensive lined has blocked as well.
For the Eagles to continue their recent success, they need to continue using the run game towards their advantage as the season winds down.
