Belgian newspapers and broadcasters have heaped praise on Club Brugge following their 2-1 Champions League victory over PSV at the Philips Stadion, while questioning the Dutch champions' defensive organisation and their handling of Carlos Forbs.
Peter Bosz's side created several promising opportunities but were unable to make the most of them. Yann Sommer produced a series of important saves to keep Club Brugge in the contest as Nicolò Tresoldi and Forbs found the net to secure a valuable away victory.
Forbs delivered the decisive moment in the 65th minute, capitalising on the space left behind PSV's attacking shape. After Joaquín Seys sent him through, the Portuguese winger found himself one-on-one with Matej Kovar and made no mistake.
The Belgian media viewed the result as another significant European achievement for Club Brugge, who had already impressed with victories over Inter Milan and Lens.
Het Laatste Nieuws was particularly enthusiastic about the Belgian side's recent performances.
"Storming San Siro, sending Lens back to France with a 3-0, and now also beating next-door PSV. Club Brugge, that's the toughest that the Low Countries has to offer these days," the newspaper wrote.

Yann Sommer Earns Praise for Crucial Saves
While celebrating Club Brugge's victory, Het Laatste Nieuws also acknowledged that PSV had been the better side for periods of the contest, particularly before Tresoldi's opening goal.
Sommer was central to keeping the Belgian champions in the game, producing two important one-on-one saves against Sergiño Dest.
"Because PSV was better at football. Also dangerous. Again, a great Sommer was needed to ultimately go ahead. Twice he showed himself one-on-one with Sergiño Dest to be the best. By reading well what the Dutchman was planning, and through famous reflexes. Sommer is catlike," the newspaper observed, as relayed by PSV Inside .
Sports broadcaster Sporza shared that assessment, describing the Swiss goalkeeper as a key figure in Club Brugge's performance.
"In Eindhoven, he was already the fuse of blue-black," Sporza wrote, underlining the importance of Sommer's contribution to the result.
Belgian Media Question PSV's Defensive Organisation
However, much of the criticism directed at PSV centred on the space they allowed Forbs to exploit.
Sporza questioned why Bosz's team left so much room behind its attacking structure , particularly against a winger whose greatest strength is his pace.
"What possessed PSV to allow the lightning bolt Forbs so much space? Dutch naivety? Then Club did it much more cleverly," the broadcaster wrote.
Sporza also praised Club Brugge's game management after taking the lead. The Belgian side defended with greater discipline during the final half-hour, ensuring PSV struggled to find a way back into the match.
Het Laatste Nieuws was similarly critical, pointing to Forbs' transformation after his difficult spell in the Netherlands. The winger, previously criticised during his time at Ajax, enjoyed a decisive evening in Eindhoven.
"Jeered in the Netherlands, now thriving at Club Brugge. Forbs got a boulevard," the newspaper wrote, praising Seys for the pass that released him before the winning goal.
The publication also questioned PSV's decision to leave so much space behind their attacking players, given Forbs' well-known ability to punish opponents in transition.
"You do know what Forbs's specialty is, don't you? How can your remaining defence then look so miserable?" it added.
For Club Brugge, the victory represents another impressive European result and further evidence of their ability to compete against established sides. For PSV, meanwhile, the defeat has exposed a familiar problem: their attacking approach can create chances, but without sufficient defensive protection, opponents with pace can punish them.
