The Cincinnati Bengals made a smaller roster move around the time of the first practice in pads during training camp.
There, the Bengals announced the release of safety Isaiah Nwokobia.
An undrafted rookie out of SMU, Nwokobia put up 180 combined tackles over his last two seasons in college, with five interceptions over those 26 appearances, too.
No word on why the Bengals made the move, but safety is a tough spot right now with Bryan Cook , Jordan Battle and Kyle Dugger the big three. PJ Jules and Daijahn Anthony will be the primary guys fighting for final spots.
It's unusual for a team to make a move like this so early into camp, so it could be a precursor for another Bengals move soon.
