In honor of Isaiah Joe 's tenure with the Oklahoma City Thunder coming to an end, I asked fans on X (formerly Twitter) to name their Mount Rushmore of OKC shooters.
As you'd expect from a franchise that has had a lot of success and has been the home of a great deal of talent over the past 18 years, there were a wide variety of answers. But there was a clear top four and some clear honorable mentions.
The final results included upwards of 30 different players receiving votes, including Rumble The Bison. While the Thunder mascot does not officially qualify for the list, he does deserve a shout out for regularly splashing behind the back half court shots.
Honorable Mentions: Kevin Martin, Paul George, Daequan Cook, Mike Muscala, Lu Dort, Danilo Gallinari and James Harden.
Thunder Mount Rushmore of Shooters
4. Alex Abrines .The former Rising Star out of Spain just eked out a spot on the list over Martin and George. Abrines shot 38% and 38.1% from deep in his first two seasons before deciding to leave the NBA in his third season due to personal reasons. He will always be beloved in Oklahoma City for his role during Russell Westbrook 's MVP season.
3. Kevin Durant .Nobody has made more 3 pointers in OKC history than the first ever Thunder MVP. Durant made a total of 1,143 of them on an impressive 38%. He is a polarizing player in Oklahoma City, but fans put their personal thoughts aside and gave Durant his due.
2. Isaiah Joe.The player who inspired the poll. Easily the most consistently elite 3 point shooter in OKC history. Joe's percentages from deep across four seasons are remarkably unwavering: 40.9%, 41.6%, 41.2% and 42.3%. Joe is also the only shooter on the list Mount Rushmore to help bring an NBA Championship to Oklahoma City.
1. Anthony Morrow .The player once dubbed as "The Fastest Gun In The West" by former Thunder play by play announcer Brian Davis. Morrow was a key role player during OKC's 2016 run to the Western Conference Finals and became well known for his lightning quick release and his no dip 3 point shooting style. He shot 39.4% from long distance across three Thunder seasons, including 43.4% in 2015. Legend has it that there are even some grown men, maybe even a RoundTable writer, who still to this day yell out "AMo!" whenever they dare attempt shooting from deep range without dipping the ball below their chest.
