Justin McBride had some extra motivation for Friday's Kentucky basketball game. He was facing James Madison , his former team, and certainly wanted to shine. Then, he went out and had his best game yet, scoring 13 points with three three-pointers in an 89-80 Wildcats win.
It wasn't all pretty for Kentucky. In the first half, bad shots combined with poor rotations on defense to keep the Dukes in the game. Three-point shots went in favor of James Madison, and it was a tie at halftime, 39-39.

In the second half, Kentucky locked in on defense, and started to knock down shots of their own, including by McBride. Alex Wilkins, who missed most of the first half with foul issues also put his stamp on things with 16 points, and a couple of big shots. Mason Williams was efficient once again. He had 12 points and was 5-of-8 from the floor.
Despite the struggles in this one, Kentucky is 2-0 on the season with a big matchup against Kansas up next. After Friday's game, fans, as usual, took to social media to talk about the game. Here are some of the best reactions from X.
