- Bethany stampedes past St. Francis
LORETTO, Pa. – The Bethany Bison capitalized on five St. Francis turnovers and outgained the Red Wolves 465-196 as they rolled to a 51-7 victory Saturday at DeGol Field.
Jaquon Reynolds and Jackson Ragland rushed for 105 and 103 yards, respectively, with Ragland scoring two touchdowns to lead the Bethany attack. Bison quarterback Brett Phillips passed for 184 yards in the win.
Phillips connected with Mykel Davis for a 43-yard strike in the first quarter to open the scoring, with Luis Fuentes knocking in field goals from 20 and 21 yards away to make it 13-0 after a quarter.
Bethany added a defensive score in the second quarter when Demetrius Kinchens returned a fumble 45 yards, making it 20-0.
Reynolds scored from a yard away in the third quarter, and Bethany added a safety to its ledger when Central Cambria graduate Elijah Villarrial was tackled in the end zone.
The Red Wolves (0-6) got their only points late in the third as Ashton Walk and Cole DeLattre teamed up on a 50-yard touchdown strike.
Bethany scored 22 points in the fourth quarter thanks to a 32-yard run from Ragland, a 2-yard plunge from Phillips, and a 59-yard scamper from Ragland each putting the Bison across the goal line.
Walk passed for 100 yards and DeLattre made four catches for 78 yards to lead St. Francis.
