With free agency a month away, it's time to check in on the Raiders ' interior offensive line positions to give it a condition of either Strong, Stable, Unstable, Serious, or Critical.
Starters: Jackson Powers-Johnson, Jordan Meredith , Caleb Rogers
Backups: Alex Cappa , Laki Tasi
Free agents: Dylan Parham , Will Putnam
The interior line was in flux much of last season. And none of the combinations worked. Mainly that was because the coaching was so bad. But injuries played a part in many of the shuffling that happened. There wasn't a single interior lineman on the team that started all season at the same position. JPJ and Meredith both jumped back and forth between center and guard and last season saw their season cut short by injury. Rogers found his way onto the field late as a rookie, making six starts.
Condition: Critical
Dylan Parham has been the most consistent presence among the Raiders interior line the past few seasons. And it appears they are content with letting him leave in free agency as he is basically a replacement level performer. JPJ and Rogers represent the Raiders highest drafted interior linemen the past two years.
Caleb Rogers looks like he is ready for a shot to start at one of the guard spots. This leaves the questions at center and guard. And what they are able to land could be the deciding factor as to where JPJ lines up next season. But make no mistake, adding starting interior lineman is a must for the Raiders this offseason.
