Fantasy football managers know that even the most reliable stars can deliver frustrating performances at the worst possible time. A disappointing box score can make it tempting to question a player's role, consider a benching, or start searching the waiver wire for replacements. However, not every bad Week 8 fantasy outing signals a troubling trend. Sometimes, an entire offense simply has a terrible afternoon. Somtimes, other players remain productive in ways that their final numbers do not fully reflect. As managers prepare for Week 9, there are big names worth keeping in starting lineups. Still others deserve a renewed opportunity to bounce back.

Bijan Robinson had little room to operate in Atlanta's 16-0 shutout loss to Tampa Bay . He finishing with 76 rushing yards on 19 carries. It was a miserable afternoon for the entire Falcons offense, which struggled to generate any meaningful momentum.
Still, Robinson's workload should reassure fantasy managers. He received 19 rushing attempts despite the team's inability to score. That gives him a dependable foundation for future production. He remains an RB1 and should stay firmly in starting lineups.

WR Drake London , Falcons
Drake London suffered an even more frustrating afternoon He caught just one of six targets for eight yards against Tampa Bay. There was very little London could do. His limited production reflected the broader offensive collapse rather than a sudden disappearance from Atlanta's plans. The six targets also indicate that he remained involved.

The matchup against Cincinnati in Week 9 gives London a chance to respond. He remains a WR1 because of his established role and target potential.
WR CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb was relatively quiet in Dallas' Week 8 loss to Arizona. He caught seven of his team-high 11 targets for 58 yards. It was his first time finishing below 60 receiving yards in three contests. However, the most important detail is that Lamb continued to command significant volume. His 11 targets led the Cowboys, demonstrating that he remains a central part of their passing attack.
Dallas now faces Indianapolis in Week 9, and the Colts present a potentially favorable opportunity for Lamb to rebound. His target share and established production make him an elite WR1.

RB Kenneth Walker III, Chiefs
Kenneth Walker III delivered a frustrating performance in Kansas City's loss to Denver. He rushed 21 times for 69 yards and caught four of five targets for 15 yards. He had 25 touches but no touchdowns. The disappointing part was his efficiency: Walker averaged just 3.3 yards per carry and failed to find the end zone.
However, his workload was extremely encouraging. He accounted for 21 of Kansas City's 24 rushing attempts. That level of involvement is difficult to ignore. Walker should remain a locked-in starter moving forward.
WR Malik Nabers, Giants
Malik Nabers provided one of the most encouraging performances of the week. He caught seven of nine targets for 111 yards against Houston. What makes the outing particularly impressive is that his production remained strong despite the quarterback change.

Nabers demonstrated that his fantasy football value is not entirely dependent on one particular signal-caller. His ability to command targets and generate substantial yardage makes him a reliable centerpiece of the Giants' passing attack. Nabers remains a WR1 moving forward.
WR Nico Collins, Texans
Nico Collins once again endured a difficult outing. He caught just two of five targets for six yards in Houston's loss to the Giants. After another disappointing statistical return, fantasy football managers may be wondering whether his production is becoming a concern.
However, Collins should not be written off. His talent and established role in Houston's passing attack make him a strong candidate to rebound. Collins should remain on fantasy rosters and deserves another opportunity when Houston returns. His Week 7 and Week 8 disappointments are frustrating, but they do not automatically signal a permanent decline.

Patrick Mahomes reminded fantasy football managers of his elite upside against Denver. He completed 30 of 41 passes for 321 yards and three touchdowns while adding six rushing yards. Mahomes connected with Rashee Rice, Emmett Johnson, and Noah Gray for touchdowns without throwing an interception. He also surpassed 300 passing yards for the first time this season.

After subpar outings in Weeks 6 and 7,, Mahomes bounced back emphatically. His latest outing suggests that his fantasy ceiling remains intact. He is back among the top quarterback options.
Final Takeaway
Bad fantasy football weeks happen, even to elite players. Robinson, London, Lamb, and Walker still have the workloads and roles to deliver strong production. Collins deserves patience. Nabers and Mahomes, meanwhile, reinforced their value with impressive performances. Don't let one disappointing Sunday dictate your Week 9 decisions.
