Former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick explained how coaching a player like Tom Brady changed his perspective on football .
“I learned so much from Tom. I never played quarterback. Tom saw the game through a quarterback’s eyes. I saw the game through a coach’s eyes,” Belichick said on Monday via Hanging Out with Sean Hannity. “Together, I think we both learned a lot from each other — Tom on how defensive coaches looked at him or looked at offense, and me on what a quarterback can do and what he can’t do, what’s hard, what’s easy, what I can see, what I can’t see, and how you see the game.”
Belichick and Brady spent a whopping 20 seasons together between 2000 and 2019. The pair led the Patriots on one of the most impressive runs of dominance in NFL history.
New England made nine Super Bowl appearances and six Super Bowl victories during that 20-year span.

Brady found some success after end of the Patriots dynasty, winning one Super Bowl with the Buccaneers . Some believe that this proves Brady was more important than Belichick to New England ’s success. But Belichick’s comments make it clear that both played their part well for the Patriots.
Fortunately for the Patriots, the future is still bright even after Belichick and Brady are gone. Drake Maye has already made it to one Super Bowl during his first two seasons in New England.
It will be exciting to see if he can hold a candle to Brady and Belichick’s success throughout his career.
