Dortmund 's Julian Ryerson 's shorts had to endure quite a lot yesterday in the Bundesliga top clash against VfB Stuttgart (1-0 for BVB ). In a challenge, Jamie Leweling pulled so hard on the Norwegian's shorts that they tore.
At first, the Dortmund player tried to manage with a knot in his shorts, but that didn't hold for long either, as the TV footage showed.
Backup goalkeeper Alexander Meyer rushed over to bring his teammate a new pair of shorts (68th minute). Ryerson briefly stood on the pitch in his underwear before he was able to continue playing in a new pair of shorts. Just two minutes after the change, Maximilian Beier scored the goal that sealed Dortmund's celebrated 1-0 win.
That means BVB go into the international break top of the table with four wins from their first four matches. That position can no longer be taken from them today. Bayern are lurking just two points behind.
