Morant's makeover has caught fans' attention because it closely resembles the hairstyle he had before establishing himself as an NBA superstar. During his stint at Murray State, the guard sported a much shorter hairstyle before his signature dreadlocks eventually became a defining part of his appearance.

After playing the first seven seasons of his NBA career in Memphis, the explosive guard is now embarking on a new chapter in Portland. Meanwhile, Morant has wasted no time showing what he can bring to his new team.
Across his first four appearances in the 2026-27 season, Morant averaged 15.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists while recording impressive shooting percentages of 54.2% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc.
Unfortunately, Morant's encouraging start to his Portland career was interrupted by an injury against his former team. The guard suffered a left hamstring injury during the matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, forcing him to exit the game early.

For now, Morant's main focus will be recovering from the hamstring injury. If he returns healthy and continues the efficiency he showed in his first four appearances, the star guard could become a crucial part of Portland's plans for the remainder of the season.
