McAdoo, the organization's No. 26 prospect, joined the Blue Jays from Triple-A Buffalo on May 28 after Lenyn Sosa 's injury opened a roster spot. One day later, he delivered a two-run homer off Trevor Rogers and gave Toronto the spark it needed.
The blast came during a four-run seventh inning and helped change the direction of the game. It also moved the Blue Jays closer to .500 while giving McAdoo a milestone he will carry well beyond his first weekend in the majors. Rather than simply recording his first major league hit, the infielder provided it when stakes were at their highest.
In an article for MLB.com, Ian Quillen shared McAdoo's reaction after the rookie described what the moment felt like.
"It was awesome. Awesome. I can't even put it into words."

The 11-word answer matched the emotion of the night. The 24-year-old did not need a long explanation to capture the significance of a first career hit that also cleared the fence and helped decide a game.
For the Blue Jays, the timing mattered beyond the individual milestone. Toronto needed a road response, and McAdoo supplied one while showing the kind of immediate impact that can help a roster manage injuries across a long season. It was the kind of swing that can make a call-up feel like more than a temporary roster move. The 6-5 victory brought Toronto back to .500 at 29-29 and kept the Blue Jays in third place in the AL East.
The series-opening win also gave the club confirmation of why McAdoo earned the call-up . His first MLB hit carried both personal meaning and team value, turning an early opportunity into one of the more noteworthy and clutch rookie moments of the 2026 season.
