But their trade deadline week got started on Sunday when they waived one of their 2019 Stanley Cup champions.
The move was reported by The Athletic's Chris Johnston -- the Blues have waived Robby Fabbri .
Fabbri is a 30-year old center who has gotten into just 15 games this season for St. Louis. He has one goal and three assists this season.
In his NHL career, Fabbri has played in 457 games with 107 goals and 113 assists (220 points).
He was originally a first-round pick by the Blues, going No. 21 overall in the 2014 NHL Draft.
He played for the Blues into the 2019-20 season, but then he was sent to the Detroit Red Wings , for whom he played until the end of the 2023-24 season.

He rejoined the Blues for this season.
Fabbri is nothing more than a depth piece, but there's a chance that another team will like what he brings and snag him off waivers.
The Detroit Red Wings are a heavy contender, and they're very familiar with Fabbri (234 games across five seasons in Detroit). Maybe they'd be a fit.
For now, though, all that's certain is that the Blues have removed Fabbri from their NHL roster.
