Izzy Nix, the wife of Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix , has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the scene that followed the news of the quarterback's season-ending ankle injury .
"I snuck this picture because I wanted to remember this moment forever," Izzy wrote on her Instagram story. "The joy, followed by the heartbreak, followed by watching each teammate and coach come to this little corner and sit by Bo's side. God could have placed us anywhere, and I'm so grateful he chose Denver. He is the perfect Author of Bo's story and we cannot wait to see what He has in store for this team — We'll be on the front row, cheering the loudest!!! 🧡"

Izzy shared a Bible verse, 2 Corinthians 4:16-17, which encourages believers not to lose heart during a time of suffering.
The photo shows Nix sitting on the floor, surrounded by fellow quarterbacks Jarrett Stidham and Sam Ehlinger , his dad, and others.
Broncos coach Sean Payton first learned of the severity of the injury when V.P. of player health and performance Beau Lowery and general manager George Paton told him in his office after his initial postgame press conference. Payton then walked up to the scene that Izzy captured.
"[They] showed me the X-ray," Payton recalled. "Immediately, I walked down the hall. Bo was kind of sitting outside the locker room, leaning up against the wall. His wife, his parents, family there, I think 'Stiddy,' a few others. I just asked him how he was doing."

Payton believes Nix's faith will help him get through the injury.
"I'll tell you what, the one thing about it, he's such a strong, faith-based guy," Payton said . "He was sitting in the hallway with his family, and I went over, and we're all talking to him. He knows that God has a plan for him."
Nix, 25, totaled 279 passing yards and three touchdowns against one interception in a 33-30 overtime win against the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday. After losing Nix to his ankle injury, the Broncos will now start Stidham against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game on Sunday.
