Hagens was injured in Boston's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night after being cross-checked by defenseman Samuel Girard early in the third period.
After the play, he skated off holding his back, and was checked out by the medical staff on the bench. Shortly after, he headed into the tunnel and did not return.
The Bruins went on to win 6-2 .
After the game, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm did not have an update on the rookie.
"To be honest, I called him up and he was not there," said Sturm. "So, I didn't even actually see it. So, we'll see tomorrow. I didn't have a chance to see him. Hopefully he will be okay."
