Ex-Kansas State Wildcats star center Cooper Beebe is perhaps entering the most important season of his young NFL career.
Beebe is entering his third year with the Dallas Cowboys. This marks the second straight season he begins preseason camp as the starter but some are saying the Cowboys need more from Beebe.
This is the year he is expected to take a leap according to those who follow the Cowboys on a daily basis.
Here's what the website Blogging The `Boys wrote, "While he'll go unchallenged as the starter, Beebe will still face some scrutiny in 2026. The third-year leap is not only hoped for, it's an expectation given his hype coming into the league. And unfair though it may be, even after all these years, Travis Frederick's shadow still looms over the center position. The perception of [Tyler] Biadasz suffered from it, and Beebe will too. Expecting him to become a perennial All-Pro isn't fair, but Frederick's high standard still sticks in our minds."
The bottom line is all eyes will be on Beebe this season. There is no pressure but the Cowboys are definitely hoping he reaches a new level.
KANSAS STATE BASEBALL ADDS TOP PITCHER IN TRANSFER PORTAL
Beebe was one of the top offensive linemen when he played for the Wildcats from 2019-2023. He was a first-team All-American as a senior before being drafted in the third round by the Cowboys in 2024.
The Kansas State Wildcats recently made a new addition to the baseball team.
On Saturday, former Texas Longhorns pitcher Grady Westphal announced he was transferring to play for the Wildcats. He delivered the news with a post on social media.
Westphal redshirted his only season at Texas but has decided to return to his home state. He played his high school ball at Blue Valley. In 2024, he was the Kansas 6A Pitcher of the Year.
