For the Pittsburgh Steelers , the 2026 NFL draft was supposed to be the draft that fixed their quarterback problems. The team has 12 picks and going into the season, this quarterback class was supposed to be generational in talent.
Once the season got going, the quarterback class was exposed and when the dust settled on the college football season, only one quarterback emerged as a legit first-round draft pick. This means the Steelers are more likely to trade back in the first round and even out of it as opposed to staying put. This would allow the Steelers to build picks for next year's draft in hopes the quarterback class is better.
So let's break down the trades and the picks in this new mock draft update.
The trade
Steelers send the No. 21 overall pick and the No. 238 overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens . The Ravens send Pittsburgh the No. 45 overall pick, the No, 80 overall pick along with a second-round pick and a third-round pick in 2027.
Second round - WR Germie Bernard - Alabama
The more we watch Bernard and his versatility, the more we like his fit with the Steelers to pair up with DK Metcalf . He lines up all over the field, has a high football IQ and reminds us a lot of Deebo Samuel .
Second round - CB Colton Hood - Tennessee
Hood stepped into the No. 1 role for Tennessee last season and showed a very high ceiling as a cover corner. His frame is a little light but he makes up for it with
Third round - LB Jake Golday - Cincinnati
Golday is a big, powerful inside linebacker who plays with great acceleration and exceptional instincts. If the Steelers release Patrick Queen , this pick is a bargain.
Third round - S Louis Moore - Indiana
Smart, athletic free safety with a nose for the football and a high football IQ and lots of leadership intangibles.
Third round - TE Dallen Bentley - Houston
Whether it's Connor Heyward or Jonnu Smith , we add Bentley here as a Swiss Army knife tight end who is an underrated blocker and receiver.
Third round - RB Mike Washington Jr. - Arkansas
Washington is an impressive blend of power and speed and he put on quite a show at the Senior Bowl. With Kenneth Gainwell likely to leave in free agency, Washington is the perfect pick.
Fourth round - G Jaeden Roberts - Alabama
Excellent developmental guard prospect with solid experience and measurables.
