The Denver Broncos were hit by the injury bug during Thursday's 17-14 win over the Seattle Seahawks .
One of the first injuries was suffered by running back Tyler Badie, who injured his thumb in the second quarter and was ruled out just before halftime. The severity of Badie's injury is not yet known, but rookie running back Jonah Coleman ( ankle ) is eligible to return from injured reserve next week.
Broncos defensive lineman Malcolm Roach was evaluated in the team's blue medical tent late in the second quarter, but he returned to the game in the second half and ended the night with a team-high four quarterback hits. Elsewhere on the defensive line, D.J. Jones was spotted holding his left hand in pain, but he also finished the game.
On offense, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle ( shoulder ) left the sideline early to go into the locker room just before halftime. Waddle, who was announced as questionable, returned in the third quarter and finished the game. Fellow receiver Courtland Sutton appeared to have a slight limp after he took a huge hit, but he also finished the game.
What appeared to be the most concerning injury of the night was suffered by outside linebacker Jonah Elliss late in the fourth quarter. After the play, Elliss limped off the field, favoring his right leg to avoid forcing the Broncos to call a timeout and stop the clock while the Seahawks were attempting to get within field goal range. Elliss was then carted off the sideline. Note that the replay of his injury is gruesome:
We're still awaiting news on the severity of Elliss' injury. Elliss started Denver's first six games of the season while Jonathon Cooper was on the commissioner's exempt list, recording one sack. Cooper was removed from the exempt list on Friday, making him eligible to play in Week 7.
After playing on TNF this week, the Broncos have 10 days before their next game against the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 25. That extra time could prove to be helpful for the club's injured players. After a long weekend, Denver will return to practice and begin releasing injury reports next Wednesday.
