Broncos linebacker suffers broken leg in preseason opener

The Denver Broncos ' preseason win over the Atlanta Falcons proved to be a costly one for linebacker Levelle Bailey.
Bailey went to the medical tent deep in the second quarter after coming off the field hopping on one leg, before being evaluated and carted off the field, according to 850 KOA's Suzie Wargin . Bailey unfortunately suffered a broken leg , which will likely end his season before it truly begins, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis.

Bailey is a third-year player who has bounced on and off the Broncos ' roster and practice squad as a special teams player. Last summer, Bailey was praised by coach Sean Payton for his improvement from Year 1 to Year 2.
Bailey was competing with Karene Reid, Jordan Turner, Red Murdock and Taurean York for one of the backup linebacker spots behind starters Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad. It wouldn't be surprising to see Denver bring in a free agent linebacker to shore up the team's depth going into the second week of preseason.
