- Browns add potential Shelby Harris replacement in NFL free agency
The Cleveland Browns have inked another deal in NFL free agency , signing former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Kalia Davis to a one-year deal. This deal is worth up to $3 million in total value .
A 27-year-old defensive tackle, Davis was drafted in the sixth round by San Francisco in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Central Florida. He started every game for the 49ers this past season, racking up 28 tackles, four tackles for loss, and .5 sacks on the season.

Davis now joins a defensive tackle room of Mason Graham , Maliek Collins , Mike Hall Jr. , Adin Huntington , and more. It could be assumed at this point that Davis is seen as a potential replacement for unrestricted free agent veteran Shelby Harris after he spent three seasons in Cleveland.
What will Davis' role in a deep DT room be with Browns?
Given the money that Davis signed for, he will be a rotational player. A year ago, Harris played over 500 snaps for the Browns. Davis played just about the same number of snaps for the Niners. He is seen as more of a run-defending defensive tackle at 6-foot-2 and 310 pounds, so he will see plenty of rotational snaps.

However, the penciled-in starters will still be Graham and Collins (should Collins be ready to roll Week 1 after a season-ending injury in 2025). How the Browns distribute the snaps between Hall Jr., Huntington, and Davis from there will be interesting to see, however.
