This was a move that some had expected, but it's still a bit jarring.
The Browns have released veteran offensive tackle Jack Conklin , according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Thursday morning .
The feeling for Browns fans here will mostly be about losing a guy who was so reliable for so long.
Conklin was originally a first-round pick, No. 8 overall, by the Tennessee Titans in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Michigan State.
The Browns acquired him before the 2020 season, and following his four seasons with the Titans, he played the next six years for the Browns as their stalwart right tackle.
Conklin has twice been named an All-Pro in his NFL career, although the injury bug followed him around a bit more than he would've liked.

After playing 57 games in his four years with the Titans, all he could do was match that in 57 games in six years with the Browns.
Conklin played 15 games in 2020, 7 in 2021, 14 in 2022, 1 in 2023, 12 in 2024 and 8 in 2025.
That made it tough to rely on him consistently, even though Conklin was still a solid player when he was able to suit up and get on the field.
The Browns have already made multiple moves along the offensive line this offseason, so they're moving forward with what they're viewing as a new unit that hopefully can stay intact more often.
As for Conklin, his future isn't certain, but it's the end of a bumpy yet sturdy time with the Browns for him.
