Veteran left guard Joel Bitonio hit the ground running when he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2014. No matter how bad the team was around him, you knew that left guard wasn't going to be the problem for the Browns ' offense. He will go down as one of the most underappreciated players in team history simply because of the position he plays, despite playing at an incredibly high level for an extended period.
After the 2024 season, Bitonio considered hanging it up; he is getting older, and injuries over the years have taken their toll. But he decided to come back for another year, which turned out to be another terrible season for the Browns as a whole. After the Browns beat the Steelers last week, he acknowledged it might have been his last home game for Cleveland .
When asked about this week potentially being the last game of his career, he acknowledged that retirement was on his mind, but that "We'll see where we're at in a few weeks." It's been a lot of fun watching Bitonio's career, and it sucks that the team wasn't able to have more success during his career.
