It can be recalled that Verse called Pittsburgh offensive linemen's play "dirty."

This time around, it was Pittsburgh that prevailed in the matchup, and in a much more dominant fashion, as the Steelers crushed the Browns at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh to the tune of a 27-6 score.

McCormick was called for a penalty on his move on Verse, who later reacted to it with a seeming jab at his rival.

Browns Jared Verse on the Unnecessary Roughness called against Steelers' Mason McCormick, who body-slammed Verse on the extra-point attempt in the first quarter:

"That's just the way that they are, him specifically; that's the way he plays and that was just lack of awareness on my part. I should have had a better grasp of the type of player I was going up against. That's just on me."

Verse doesn't have to worry about the Steelers anymore this season, unless the two sides cross paths in the playoffs. His next focus will be the New Orleans Saints, who will host Cleveland for a Week 9 game at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
