Jedrick Wills has joined the Arizona Cardinals after the team signed the veteran offensive tackle from the Buffalo Bills ' practice squad.
The move brings Wills back to an active NFL roster after spending the start of the 2026 season on the Bills practice squad.
Former Bills OT joins Cardinals after practice squad stint
The Arizona Cardinals have signed offensive tackle Jedrick Wills from the Buffalo Bills' practice squad to their 53-man active roster. The move follows Paris Johnson Jr.'s torn biceps injury , which will keep the starting left tackle out for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Because Wills was on the Bills practice squad, the Cardinals were able to sign him directly to their active roster. The Bills will not receive compensation or a draft pick for the move and will have an opening on their practice squad.
The 27-year-old Wills was selected 10th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. He began his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns and played 58 regular-season games from 2020 through 2024, starting 57 of them. He started 15 games in 2020, 13 in 2021, 17 in 2022 and eight in 2023. In 2024, he appeared in five games and started four.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported the signing on Wednesday, October 7. He wrote : "The #AZCardinals are signing OT Jedrick Wills off the #Bills practice squad, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The 10th overall pick in 2020 heads to Arizona after the team lost LT Paris Johnson Jr. for the season. @SalSports reported Wills was signing elsewhere. AZ it is."
Jedrick Wills played for the Browns through the 2024 season before spending the 2025 season out of the NFL. Before the 2026 season, he joined the Chicago Bears for training camp and the preseason. The Bears released him in August, and the Bills then signed him to their practice squad.
Wills adds depth to Arizona's tackle group following Johnson's injury. He also spent time with the Chicago Bears and the Buffalo Bills before arriving in Arizona.
The signing provides a veteran presence along the offensive line as the Arizona Cardinals moves forward without its starting left tackle.
Bills prepare for next matchup
The Buffalo Bills opened the 2026 season with wins over the Houston Texans, 36-31, the Detroit Lions, 41-31, and the Los Angeles Chargers, 24-16. They then lost 29-26 to the New England Patriots, leaving them with a 3-1 record.
The Bills also dealt with several injuries during the Patriots game. D.J. Moore suffered a shoulder injury, Ed Oliver injured his left knee, D'Alford suffered an ankle injury, and Taron Crouch sustained a hamstring injury.
The Bills now have an opening on their practice squad after losing Jedrick Wills to the Arizona Cardinals. Wills joined Buffalo's practice squad after the Chicago Bears released him in August.
Buffalo will continue preparing for its next game while dealing with the roster change and its injury situation. The Bills will face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, October 12, entering the matchup with a 3-1 record.
