Team USA secured a win over Puerto Rico on Thursday night. The final estimate was 91-48 in favor of Caitlin Clark and Co. While the play on the court was decisive, a specific aspect of the event caught the eye of the fans. Social media users shared a clip of her boyfriend seated in the lower bowl.
This guest was Connor McCaffery. He is a coach for Butler University and the love of Clark. McCaffery arrived in the nick of time after his team lost on Wednesday. Butler lost its game against Providence with a score of 91-81. Because of this mishap, he could travel to San Juan for the remainder of the qualifiers on March 12 and March 13. He sat with Brent Clark and Anne Nizzi-Clark to endorse the Fever star.
One fan said the sight was "CUTE".
Butler felt the impact of the loss on Wednesday.
"I just knew Connor would make it. Butler lost yesterday," a fan wrote.
Although the result was unhindered misery for the coach, it allowed him to be on the spot for Clark. Fans were double-minded about the loss but adored seeing him support Clark.
"Connor, Anne and Brent in the house to watch CC," one wrote .
"And her Man," one reacted .
"And Connor," another commented .
Indiana Fever guard Clark was somewhat deficient during the play. She recorded eight points and three rebounds. This was a decline from her debut on Wednesday, where she amassed 17 points and 12 assists against Senegal. She went 2-of-6 from the field.
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese was the woman of the match. She recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Reese also had two assists in 16 minutes. Paige Bueckers led the scoring with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Kelsey Plum and Kiki Iriafen assisted the offense as well.
On the whole, the atmosphere was optimistic. Clark, who turns 24 on Jan. 22, was previously the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year. Now, she continues to play for the national team as her kith & kin look on.
