😳 He can't believe it! World champion sent off in record time
He surely imagined his start at the new club very differently. The 2018 French world champion Djibril Sidibé moved this summer from Toulouse FC to Le Mans FC. But in his first game for the new club in Ligue 1, he immediately made a negative impression.
Just 43 seconds after coming on, he was sent off with a red card. Without even touching the ball, he harshly fouled Estéban Lepaul in midfield with a kick and was shown the red card.
Sidibé himself could hardly believe it and put his hands on his head. But the replay shows that he caught his opponent on the ankle. The sending-off was therefore fully justified. According to the data portal 'Opta', it was the fastest dismissal of a substitute in Ligue 1 history. The previous record had been 47 seconds.
A bitter blow for his team: with one man less, Le Mans lost the game 2-3.
