What began 101 days earlier sadly came to an end in July on Sunday of the British Open. Was it just us, or did the 2026 men's major season seem to fly by with Rory McIlroy, Aaron Rai, Wyndham Clark and Ryan Fox walking off with the hardware—and endless storylines following in their wake?
Now golf fans are in for the long wait—more than 170—until the first round of the 2027 Masters.
To hold you over until the golf world returns to Augusta National once more next April, we compiled this early look at everybody who has already earned a spot in the field for next year's Masters. Augusta National announced in September its invitation criteria for the 2027 event , which mirrors what was used in 2026 and includes again winners of six national Opens played around the world.
Thus far, there are 69 players who have qualified (excluding past champions who did not play this past year). That includes Thailand's Fifa Laopakdee, who became just the second golfer to successfully defend his title at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. He joins recent Hong Kong Open winner John Caitlin , Japan Open winner Yusaku Hosono and Spanish Open winner Grant Forrest, who all took advantage of the Masters' new invitations to national Open winners.
Of course, many more—professionals and amateurs alike—will fill out the lineup through traditional qualifying criteria. (You can see all the ways players can earn invitations to the Masters below.) In the meantime, here's the list of presumed invitees.
