The Vancouver Canucks look to be without a big piece in their lineup tonight against the Anaheim Ducks. Defenceman Tom Willander will not play tonight, missing his first game of the 2026–27 season as a result. He did not join his team for warmups ahead of tonight's matchup.
Willander is currently dealing with a lower-body ailment, per Brendan Batchelor of KiSS West Coast.
In his second NHL season with the Canucks, Willander has played in 16 games and posted three assists. He's currently averaging 20:25 minutes played per game, ranking third on Vancouver behind Filip Hronek (25:47) and Zeev Buium (20:34). Willander also leads his team in 5-on-5 TOI with 293:55 minutes played.
As a result of Willander's absence, both Guillaume Brisebois and Victor Mancini will slot in to tonight's lineup as a pairing along with defence regulars Hronek, Buium, Jamie Oleksiak, and Elias Pettersson.
Vancouver last played Anaheim one week ago, snapping a 10-game losing streak against the Ducks 6–5 in overtime.
