Frye was asked, "Who is going to be the mid-team in the NBA this season?"
His response: "Oh, who's the worst team? The Kings."
Before correcting himself and giving his mid-team pick: "Orlando's going to be 8 and 10 again in the play-in again. They're going to have shooting issues again."
The Sacramento Kings stumbled through a brutal 2025–26 campaign under first-year head coach Doug Christie, finishing 22–60 and placing 14th in the Western Conference.
Sidelined core stars like Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine , paired with a franchise-record 16-game losing streak, completely derailed the season early on.
