The Chargers have added a familiar face to their edge rusher room, signing Caleb Murphy to their practice squad.
Murphy was recently waived by the Giants after failing to make their initial 53-man roster.
The Giants claimed Murphy off waivers in mid-December 2025. The 26-year-old signed a reserve/future contract with New York in March 2026.
Before Murphy's time with the Giants, he played for the Chargers and was part of their organization in 2024 and 2025.
In late October 2024, Murphy signed to the Chargers' practice squad and eventually signed a reserve/future contract with Los Angeles in January 2025.
Murphy played in six games for the Chargers in 2025 and recorded 12 tackles, one quarterback hit, and 0.5 sacks, while establishing himself as a reliable asset on special teams units.
He finished the 2025 season with the Patriots, where he played in five games.
